THE OUTSIDE THE FEED JOURNAL
40 Weekly Journaling Prompts for Real Life
You do not need a dramatic week to have something worth writing down. These weekly journaling prompts are designed to help you notice the people, places, conversations and ordinary details that make up a life.
Weekly journaling works best when the questions help you remember rather than perform. You can answer one prompt, several, or simply use a question as a starting point. There is no correct length and no need to turn every week into a lesson.

- What happened this week that I want to remember?
- What was the smallest moment that made me smile?

- What surprised me?
- What made this week feel different from the one before it?
- What did I notice for the first time?

How to use weekly journaling prompts
Choose a consistent moment at the end of your week and give yourself ten minutes. Put your phone aside, open your journal and choose the question that catches your attention. If another memory comes to mind, follow it.
You can also keep one favourite prompt and answer it every week. Seeing the same question across a month or a year can reveal details and patterns that are difficult to notice while life is moving.
The important thing is not to complete all forty prompts. It is to create a small pause in which your week gets a chance to become a memory.
THE WEEK THAT WAS
