THE FIRST OUTSIDE THE FEED JOURNAL
The Week That Was
A weekly memory journal for recording the moments, people and details you want to keep.
The Week That Was is built around a simple idea: a week can be full of life while it is happening, yet surprisingly difficult to remember afterwards.
Instead of asking you to plan the week ahead or improve yourself, it gives you a place to look back. Once a week, you pause for a few minutes and record what actually happened — the people, places, conversations, small wins, ordinary details and moments that made that week yours.
Not a planner. Not a performance.
The Week That Was is a memory journal, not a productivity system. There are no targets to hit and no ideal version of your week to create.
It is deliberately simple. The aim is to make remembering part of real life without turning reflection into another task competing for your attention.
One week at a time
Each week gives you a dedicated place to capture the details worth keeping. Some weeks may fill a page. Others may take only a few lines. Both are part of the record.
The prompts are designed to help when you need a starting point, while leaving enough space for the things only you could write down.
Choose your edition
52-week edition
A full year of weekly memories. Designed for keeping a continuous record of the year, from the ordinary details to the moments you know you will want to revisit.
26-week edition
Six months of the same thoughtful weekly format. A shorter starting point, or a way to capture a particular season of life.
Why keep a physical record?
Photos, messages and posts can capture fragments of a life, but they do not always tell you how a week felt. Writing by hand creates a different kind of record — one that belongs to you rather than to a feed.
A physical journal also creates a small boundary around reflection. Put the phone down, open the page and give yourself ten minutes to remember what happened.
What might you write about?
- A conversation you want to remember.
- A person who made the week better.
- A place you visited or a walk you took.
- Something ordinary that felt unexpectedly good.
- A moment that made you laugh.
- A small detail you nearly forgot.
- Something you want to carry into next week.
